“The secret of the mountain is that the mountains simply exist, as I do myself: the mountains exist simply, which I do not. The mountains have no “meaning,” they are meaning; the mountains are. The sun is round. I ring with life, and the mountains ring, and when I can hear it, there is a ringing that we share. I understand all this, not in my mind but in my heart, knowing how meaningless it is to try to capture what cannot be expressed, knowing that mere words will remain when I read it all again, another day.”

~ Peter Matthiessen from The Snow Leopard

I've always loved the mountains.

Moving west to Colorado many years ago completely changed my life.

There, I pushed my limits by being outside, among the summits of many peaks. Here, I discovered my passions more, pushing boundaries in endurance sports, learning to ski, summiting multiple peaks over 14,000 feet high, and experiencing awe-inspiring nature throughout the seasons.

The Rocky Mountains made me feel more alive, creative, and joyful.

So, I took my camera out over the next few years to capture my experiences. My active desire to be immersed in the outdoors, coupled with a minor in art during my undergraduate education, inspired me to explore more about the medium of photography.

I describe my work as vibrant and experimental, using a variety of colors. I am drawn to creating new perspectives and capturing adventurous moments in time. I particularly enjoy the change of seasons, especially winter.

My best artistic work is captured spontaneously,

without being posed or perfect,

but rather by finding the right frame in time.

My goal for this project is to capture more creative moments, highlight my travels, find beauty in nature, and continue to build my portfolio so that I can share the art of pure photography alongside my full-time senior-level marketing career.

I photograph using a Canon Mirrorless camera and various lenses.

I am excited to share more of my work with you all.
